I am an AI Resident at Meta AI (Fromaly Facebook AI) working with Ari S. Morcos and Surya Gaguli. My current interest is making large-scale training more "Efficient" and understanding how the quality of pretraining data influences downstream performance.
Before that, I pursued the African Master’s in Machine Intelligence (AMMI). My master's thesis on exploring Out-of-distribution robustness of SOTA vision models was supervised by Prof. Stephane Deny from Meta AI/Aalto University. I will be happy if you reach me out through one of these platforms:

Mar 2023: New preprint (SemDeDup: Data-efficient learning at web-scale through semantic deduplication).
Nov 2022: New paper accepted at AAAI2023 (Progress and limitations of deep networks to recognize objects in unusual poses).
Sep 2022: I joined Meta AI in California as an AI Resident. I will be working with Ari Morcos's team.
Jan 2021: I moved to Senegal to start the African Master’s in Machine Intelligence (AMMI).
Oct 2020: I completed my BSc at University of Khartoum / Electrical Engineering (minor in software engineering). Now I am an Engineer 😄.
